Florence

Florence is in Tuscany, and the municipality is the largest in the region by population. The city is divided into five districts: Centro Storico, Campo di Marte, Gavinana-Galluzzo, Isolotto-Legnaia and Rifredi.

Local transport is buses and trams. The bus network is widespread, while the tram network is still developing. The airport is in Peretola, five kilometres from the city centre, and tram line T2 connects the two. The historic centre is a limited traffic zone, and the city lists 97 kilometres of walking routes along the river and in the hills.

How admission works for international students

The Master's programs taught in English use application rounds on the university's portal. The first two rounds were open to all applicants, and the third was not open to non-EU citizens living abroad. Programs ask for English, usually at B2 level.

Our overview of admission tests shows which test each type of degree uses.

Medicine, Dentistry and Veterinary Medicine in English are covered on our Medicine in Italy page.

Fees

Students who live abroad, EU or non-EU, are given a figurative university ISEE by income group of their country of residence, using the World Bank classification. For a first enrolment in 2026/27 the all-inclusive annual total runs from 536 euros for low-income countries to 2,395.30 euros for high-income countries. Students from the developing countries named in the ministerial decree pay only 156 euros, the regional tax and stamp duty, and that is their cost.

How we help

For the Master's rounds we keep the round dates, the Universitaly pre-enrolment and the visa in one plan and prepare the documents the university asks for. If Florence is one of several options, we compare them with you.
